WP AI Content Pro allows you to insert dynamic post data into task prompts using placeholders. This makes tasks reusable and ensures the AI works with real content from each post.

What Are Placeholders?

Placeholders are variables wrapped in curly braces that are replaced with actual post data when a task runs.

When the task is executed, each placeholder is automatically resolved using the selected post’s data.

Supported Placeholders

WP AI Content Pro supports the following placeholders:

  • {post_title} – Inserts the current post title
  • {post_content} – Inserts the current post content
  • {field_key} – Inserts a custom field or ACF field value (example: {price})

Using Post Title and Post Content

You can reference the post title or content directly in your prompt.

Example:

Rewrite {post_title} to make it more engaging and SEO-friendly.
Improve the readability of {post_content} while keeping the original meaning unchanged.

Using Custom Fields in Prompts

You can use any custom field or ACF field by referencing its field key.

How to Use a Custom Field

  1. Identify the custom field key (for example: price).
  2. Insert it into the prompt using curly braces: {price}.

Example:

Using the price {price}, rewrite {post_content} to clearly highlight the product’s value.

Target Output: Updating Custom Fields

When your task’s Target Output is set to Custom Field:

  • Enter the field key (without braces) in the Custom Field Key input.
  • The AI-generated result will be saved to that field after you click Accept.

Example:

  • Custom Field Key: price
  • Prompt uses: {price}

ACF Field Support

WP AI Content Pro supports Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).

  • If a field exists as both a custom field and an ACF field, the ACF field value is used.
  • Updates are applied correctly to ACF fields when the task is accepted.

What Happens If a Field Is Missing?

  • If a placeholder refers to a field that does not exist, it is replaced with an empty value.
  • The task still runs, but the AI output may be incomplete.

Tip: Always verify field keys before using them in prompts.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Forgetting curly braces around the field key
  • Using an incorrect or misspelled custom field key
  • Assuming multiple fields can be updated in one task
  • Using placeholders that do not exist on the selected post

Best Practices

  • Use placeholders only where dynamic data is required
  • Keep prompts readable even with placeholders included
  • Test tasks on a single post before applying to other content

Next Step

Now that you understand how to use placeholders and custom fields, the final step is applying tasks to posts and reviewing AI-generated changes.
