So you want to dive into the world of WordPress hooks, huh? Let’s talk about the mu_activity_box_end action hook. It’s a neat little hook that fires at the end of the ‘Right Now’ widget in the Network Admin dashboard. Trust me, once you get the hang of using these hooks, your WordPress life becomes so much easier!

To use the mu_activity_box_end action, you first need to register it using add_action. You can write this code into the functions.php of your activated theme or in a custom WordPress Plugin. Here at WePlugins, we always prefer to create a custom WordPress Plugin while using hooks so nothing breaks when you update your WordPress Theme in the future.

In the examples below, we have defined a function weplugins_execute_on_mu_activity_box_end_event and registered it using add_action. The first parameter mu_activity_box_end is the name of the hook, the second parameter weplugins_execute_on_mu_activity_box_end_event is the name of the function that needs to be called, the third parameter is the priority of calling the hook if the same hook is used multiple times, and the last parameter is the number of arguments (if any) to be passed in the registered function.

Sometimes, you have to remove a registered hook, so you can use remove_action to remove the mu_activity_box_end action.

Live Example 1: Basic Usage

Below is an example of how you can use this hook.

  function weplugins_execute_on_mu_activity_box_end_event() {
    // Add your custom code here
  }
  // add the action
  add_action("mu_activity_box_end", "weplugins_execute_on_mu_activity_box_end_event");

Live Example 2: Removing the Hook

To remove a hook callback, use the example below.

  remove_action("mu_activity_box_end", "weplugins_execute_on_mu_activity_box_end_event");

Please make sure to provide the same callback function name, priority, and number of arguments while removing the hook callback.

Live Example 3: Adding Priority

This example shows how to add priority to your hook.

  function weplugins_execute_with_priority(){
    // Your prioritized code here
  }
  // add the action with priority
  add_action("mu_activity_box_end", "weplugins_execute_with_priority", 20);
